Parliament of Owls – Set Book

Adipo Sidang’ is a Kenyan poet and dramatist who has won numerous awards. A Boy Named Koko, his novella for young adults, earned the 2017 Burt Award for African Young Adult Literature (Kenya). In the same year, it was also nominated for the Burt Award for African Young Adult Literature (Africa) and the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature in 2019. Sidang’ is enthusiastic about art and its policy and governance framework. He formerly taught Philosophy at universities in Kenya.

His debut collection of poetry, Parliament of Owls, was released by Native Intelligence in 2016 as part of the Contact Zones Nairobi Series. Later, he translated the title poem into a theatrical play, which his theatre company, Agora Theatre, produced in Kenya in 2017. The play is now released under the title A Play: Parliament of Owls.
