Of Pawns and Players

Kinyanjui Kombani is a Kenyan author, playwright, screenwriter, and campaigner for literature. In 2004, he broke onto the limelight with his debut novel The Last Villains of Molo, one of the few works of art depicting Kenya’s first post-election crisis in 1991. We enjoyed it immensely.

We also adored his 2013 novel Den of Inequities, which follows a murderous gang in Nairobi.

The author’s new book, Of Pawns and Players, explores the underground world of gambling in his signature straightforward and funny narrative approach.
